Exporting from KAMAR
KAMAR has a dedicated School-links export as part of its External Progams printing feature. To use this feature, follow the steps below.
You’ll need an administrator account with access to the External Programs feature, and the ability to export student and caregiver records.
1. Select Printing from the main menu
Select the printing option from KAMAR’s main menu after logging in as an administrator.
2. Click the “External Programs” button
Click the external programs button near the bottom right of the KAMAR window. If you can’t see external programs, your account most likely does not have the required permission access.
3 & 4. Choose School-links export
The External Programs button pops up a window containing a number of different exports. Select the “School-links” option, in the lower half of the list, and click OK.
5. Selection Criteria
KAMAR will transfer you to the record search area. You need to ensure that you find all attending students (see 5 and 6) below. If you wish, you can add the year level filter.
6. Click “Find”
Click the Find button to open a dialogue to save your export. You can also click the “Preview” checkbox next to the find button to see a preview on-screen before you save.
Save the file with an appropriate name such as 2013-myschool.csv
Don’t open and then save the file in a spreadsheet application such as Excel or OpenOffice Calc. These applications can adjust the formatting of numbers and other file data, which can make the file incompatible with School-links.
Uploading to School-links
Follow our instructions for Uploading a CSV File to School-links. You will need to select Kamar from the Student Management System File Format drop down when prompted.
