Start Fundraising

How it works

1) We present to you a range of businesses and organisations that you can select for your newsletter and are seen to be supporting your school.

2 ) School-links manages the advertising banner designs, layout and copy, and the businesses are billed monthly directly by School-links.

3) A percentage of advertising revenue goes to your school for fundraising. e.g. 6 x banners ads would generate you approx. $960.00 per year over 4 terms.

Where you already have business partners, it is even easier. Provide us with the name and contact details of the business and we’ll do the rest.

What will the ads look like?

Here are some examples of ads that are currently running for some of our School-links Fundraising clients.

What do School-links Fundraising customers think?

“We use School-links on a regular basis and were approached by Mary-Anne asking if we would like advertising placed on all our communications. This was a really simple setup – no formal contract, no cost to us and all done over the phone.

We advertised University of Canterbury and Ara – all future pathways for our students. The whole process was quick, seamless and we even receive a commission for the advertising.”

Karen Roberts, Office Manager, Hillmorton High School.

“This year School-links approached our College to see if we would be interested in placing paid educationally-relevant advertisements beneath emails sent out to our students’ parents via School-links.

The plan was discussed by the Schoollinks team in a professional and friendly manner and any questions were answered thoroughly. We signed up for the plan and it has been a success for us.”

Richard Edmundson, Principal, Linwood College.

“St Martins School had been using School-links for some time when we were approached by Andrew and Mary-Anne about attaching advertising to our school notices. We decided to trial it and have found the process simple and more importantly, it did not mean any extra work for us.

School-links found companies happy to advertise, we gave our approval and School-links did the rest. We have recently received our first commission payment which was a very nice bonus to our school budget.”

Michele Stephens, Principal’s PA, St Martins School.

School-links Fundraising FAQs

Can I use School-links Fundraising if we don’t send our newsletter through School-links?

Yes. You can offer a “Sponsor’s Page” for advertisers. You may already be familiar with a printed version of this concept. The advertising page will be provided each term or when new advertisers come on board. We will provide you with a Word document with URL links inserted into each banner ad that you simply copy and paste into your newsletter format.

How does it work if I do use School-links newsletters?

The advertising will appear on all School-links generated notices, i.e. when your administrators send out an email, the template is always the same - your logo up the top, message in the middle with perhaps an attachment or pdf file (e.g. your newsletter). Appearing at the bottom of the email will be one or two ads. The parent will then be able to click on the ad and be taken to the landing page or website of the advertiser.

Do I have to pay for this service?

No. School-links Fundraising is completely FREE.

How much money can I expect to make from School-links Fundraising?

It depends on the number of banner ads you decide to use. For example, 6 x banners ads would generate you approx. $960.00 per year over 4 terms.

What will the ads look like on our newsletter?

Every school newsletter is different, so we can happily show you a demo of how School-links Fundraising will look like on your particular layout.
